Adrian Curry... My Story

On May 17th 2001 an upcoming star was born. Hello, my name is Adrian Curry. I am fourteen years old and a student of St Augustine’s College. I live with a family of five. As a child I was very energetic. I would always go outside to play or run around the house. In primary school I would always race with the bigger boys and show them my speed. By the end of grade 6, I made up mind that becoming a professtional track athlete was my goal. To achieve this I must stay focused, eat healthy, always go to practice and keep my grades up.

The one thing that inspired me the most is watching professional athletes run and how they train. My favorite athlete and the athlete that has inspired me is our very own Bahamian Olympian Christopher “Chris” Brown, also known as “Fireman”. High school turned my world into something different. I slacked off a little bit and didn’t go to practice. In grade eight coaches started motivating me to go out to practice and after that I never stopped. In 2015 I participated in BAISS and became the BAISS 100m champion. I love track & field it has become my favorite sport. I’m a sprinter so I usually run the 100m and 200m. Last year September I joined a club which was my first time training with a club. I’m currently with Club Monica Athletics and coached by Ms. Dianne Woodside and Mr. Tito Moss.

I can see that training with the club is helping me to develop myself as an athlete. This year I am the BAISS 100m champion and the 200m champion. I would like to thank my parents for pushing me and encouraging me to never give up and stay focused. As I grow older or in the future hopefully I am injury free through the grace of God and continue on my dream of making it to the Olympics and representing The Bahamas.
